We will keep your email address private and your identity anonymous

1. We will not make your email address available to anyone else for any purpose, unless the law so requires.
2. We will not make your email address available to any other user.
3. The only thing that identifies you to other users is your username. We suggest you use an anonymous one. Anonymity is one of the benefits of the site so users can experiment with different negotiation styles.

We don't promise perfect opponents

4. Difficult people are part of the territory. We do not - because we can not - promise that everyone will be nice.
5. Negotiations - even online for fun - can become emotionally charged. Part of the learning is how to deal with such behaviour from others and how to avoid such behaviour yourself. Further, being difficult can be a legitimate negotiation tactic, one users have the right to explore.
6. You acknowledge that Machiavelli's Workshop has no responsibility for how users behave during its role plays, and accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage you suffer because of the behaviour of other users during your role plays.
7. That said, we will terminate accounts for users if we believe they are being unreasonably abusive.

We own the site and everything on it

8. All content on the site belongs to Machiavelli's Workshop. This includes all content users generate, such as game data, and in-game messages and chats.

We may suspend or terminate accounts

9. We may suspend or terminate your account for any reason (hey, it's free).
10. We will terminate your account if you engage in gratuitously abusive, racist, obscene or unconstructive behaviour.
11. We will terminate your account if you misuse the site content. Misuse includes making copies of any role play information available in any form outside the site.

We will send you regular emails

12. You consent to receive email updates from us to your nominated email address. Such emails will include in-game, general site updates, and e-newsletters.

We have limited liability

13. To the extent permitted by law, we have no liability to you arising in any way from your use of the site.
14. If for any reason we are liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer from using our site, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us using our site.

We can make changes

15. We may change these terms and conditions at anytime and from time to time.
16. We may decide to close or restrict the site at anytime and for any reason.

We are an Australian company

17. The proper law for this agreement is the law of the Australian Capital Territory and you irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of its courts in resolving any dispute arising from your use of the site.

13. You and your students consent to receive email update from us to your nominated email address. Such emails will be limited to in-game and general site updates.

We have limited liability

15. If for any reason we are liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer from using our site, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid in using our site.
16. You indemnify us against any liability for any loss or damage suffered by any of your students arising in any way from your student's use of the site.
